Stay Informed

Academy District 20 uses a variety of methods to make sure we get the right information to you at the right time:

  • District and School Websites

  • Email

  • Text Messages or Phone Calls

  • Social Media

  • Traditional Mail

  • ParentSquare (launching in January 2025)

Our websites and email are the primary communication methods, but you can also opt-in to receive text messages or phone calls. Some school-specific communication may also come through systems like Infinite Campus or Schoology.

Setting Up Your Communications Options

Make sure your contact information is up to date in Infinite Campus and the Extended Parent Portal. You can choose:

  • How you would like to receive communication (email, text, or phone)

  • The email addresses or phone numbers where we should reach you

  • The types of communications you would like to receive

  • Which family members should receive updates

Check your email regularly. If you unsubscribe from any emails from Academy District 20 or any of our schools, you will no longer receive any of our emails. To start receiving emails again, update your settings in the Extended Parent Portal. If you prefer, you can delete any emails you no longer wish to receive.

If our emails go to your spam or junk folder, please follow your email provider's instructions to add donotreply@asd20.org to your "safe" list. Bookmark the district website and any schools your student(s) attend.

Websites

Our district and school websites provide important information through "announcements" and "features," which are easily accessible on the homepage or on subject-specific pages.

Each website includes a powerful search tool that can help you quickly find specific information by searching for terms in real-time.

You can also find a variety of resources on our websites, including district and school calendars, login details for password-protected systems like Infinite Campus and Schoology, employee directories, and our School Directory tool for comparing schools.

Email

Much of what we communicate will come to you through our 20Alert email system. With this system we make every effort to target only those parents and community members who will find that information useful. Teachers may communicate student-specific information through the messenger system in Infinite Campus.

Text Messages & Phone Calls

You can opt to receive text messages for urgent updates. Automated phone calls or text messages will be used for critical events like weather delays, school closures, or time-sensitive notifications.

Social Media

We share updates and encourage engagement via Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X. Most schools also have their own pages. While social media is interactive, for the most timely and important information, we recommend monitoring our websites and checking your email.

Emergency Communication

We consider events such as police activity near a school, a threat against a school, or a wild animal on school grounds to be emergencies. For situations where immediate action is needed or time is critical, we will use email, text messages, phone calls, and website notifications to keep you informed.
