Transforming Air Academy High School and Beyond
Thanks to this bond, Academy District 20 will access approximately $191 million in federal funding from the Department of Defense to rebuild Air Academy High School. The new school will feature a cutting-edge Center for Excellence for Career and Technical Education, designed to prepare students for future success.
Additionally, the bond funds will support district-wide improvements, including:
$49 million to match federal funding for the Air Academy High School rebuild, netting the $191 million match.
$23 million for district-wide safety, health, and security upgrades, including compliance with Colorado's LED lighting standards under HB23-1161.
$9.48 million for capital improvements at The Classical Academy.
$1.66 million for capital improvements at New Summit Charter Academy.
Oversight and Accountability
A Bond Oversight Committee will be formed in 2025 to ensure responsible use of funds, reflecting the district's commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility.
