A Message from Superintendent Haberer

Academy District 20,

We are off to an incredible start this school year! After visiting more than 20 of our schools and engaging with our families and staff, I am inspired by the dedication and energy I see every day in each of our schools.

For example, at Prairie Hills Elementary School I had the pleasure of observing Mrs. Carli Streifel’s class where one student was energized and excited to show me her journal. I encountered countless more examples across our schools.  We are truly making great things happen in D-20, and it’s all because of our amazing students, committed staff, engaged families, and supportive community.

As we move forward, here are the focus areas for the 2024-2025 school year and the lenses that D-20 will use to provide a positive learning environment that empowers students to thrive.

  • Academic Excellence: We are dedicated to enhancing student outcomes through initiatives like Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Career and Technical Education, and a strong emphasis on Core Academic Standards.

  • Parent Choice: We are committed to partnering with you, our families, in your students’ educational journeys. One example is our new School Choice application process which enhances the application process.

  • Financial Responsibility: We take pride in our fiscal transparency and responsibility. We are committed to continuously providing resources on our website, so our community can learn more about our finances. In a recent bond oversight report, we heard praise for our award-winning finance team and their ability to accomplish complex goals within an established budget. We will continue to make these resources available as we move through this school year. Learn more on ASD20.org.

  • Forging a Culture of Connectedness: We invite you to participate in our many stakeholder groups and encourage anyone who wants to become involved to email superintendent@asd20.org. Open to all, our Community Connections meetings will begin Tuesday, September 3 at 4:30 p.m. in our EAC Atrium. Additionally, we will hold several 2024 Bond Measure information sessions. Find more details on ASD20.org.

I am eagerly looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year and what we will accomplish together.

Sincerely,
Jinger Haberer
