The Academy District 20 Board of
Education on Aug. 18, 2016, approved a resolution for placing a bond
measure on the November 2016 election ballot. The proposal provides bond
funding for capital projects and identified priorities such as building
and improving schools.
Quick FactsThe amount of the proposed bond is $230 million.The proposed bond will be used to build two new elementary schools, one middle school and an innovation and learning center. As part of the bond, each D20 school, including the Classical Academy, will receive funding to use at its own discretion. Property owners will not see a property tax rate increase.The district has grown by 7,000 students since 2001 and is projecting 5,000 additional students by 2026.
