Department Goals

 Business Services Department Goals for 2016-2017

  1. Bond PlanningEnsure effective communication to stakeholders of bond planning, to include approved projects, tax implications, and compliance with the Fair Campaign Practices Act. If the issue passes at the ballot, further activities will include establishment of a construction management team, bond issuance timeline, credit rating presentation, multi-year project timeline, and bond oversight committee. (Superintendent Initiative)

  2. Review Business Services Administrative Policies/Procedures. All administrative policies relative to the business services group will be reviewed and revised for the start of fiscal year 2018.;

  3. Capital Needs
    1. Evaluate the need and funding sources for additional modular classroom space.
    2. Support the new Director for Facilities as he learns process, procedure, culture, and   communication in District 20.
    3. If a bond is placed on the ballot and if the bond passes, identify a thoughtful and strategic approach funding capital improvement needs (Cap Res v Building Fund).  This will be a goal for the Business Services Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

  4.  Site PlanningProvide support and leadership through the Business Services site planning process during the 2016-17 school year.

  5. School Activity Accounting Software.  Successfully implement new student activity accounting software (TRA) at all schools.
     
  6. Internal Audit Process.  Follow-up on changes made during the 2015-16 internal audit process as a part of current year audits, reporting all findings to appropriate supervisors.

  7. AthleticsWork with athletic directors to improve the athletic program across the district.  This includes improving compliance with CHSAA by-laws, improving leadership of coaches and athletic directors, and improving the coach-athlete experience for student-athletes.
