Accountant / Budget Analyst: Aimee L. Hemmer
Aimee earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University, whose undergraduate accounting program has consistently ranked among one of the top 25 best in the nation for almost two decades.
Aimee brings more than nine years of accounting and finance experience to Academy District 20, with over seven of those years being in county-level government. Most recently, Aimee served as Grant and Purchasing Coordinator for El Paso County Public Health. Aimee worked with program staff to monitor budgets and ensure that expenditures were in compliance with grant requirements, issued requisitions and purchase orders, and provided ad hoc reporting for executive staff to aid in long range strategic planning.
Aimee is no stranger to Colorado school finance. She previously held the role of Accountant for Adams 12 Five Star Schools in Thornton. There she worked extensively with student fees, monthly financial reporting, and annual report preparation. Before moving to Colorado, she worked as a Senior Accountant for Walworth County, Wisconsin, working on month end reporting, bank reconciliations, capital assets, grant reporting, and annual report preparation. She later transitioned to a role within the county-ran special education school, her first experience in an educational setting. Having found it highly rewarding and challenging, she is excited to be here at Academy District 20.
